Happy Friday! What are your weekend plans? A little R&R? Good – you deserve it! To help you on your quest for relaxation, we thought we’d share a super fancy charcoal mask you can make at home.
Now, before we get going, we should answer: why charcoal? Charcoal has recently emerged as a cure-all! Yellow teeth? Use charcoal! Breaking out? Charcoal! Bloated? You guessed it! Charcoal. Made of charred coconut husk, activated charcoal draws out impurities, stains, and oils while maintaining moisture. This stuff is magic!
The ingredients for this DIY face mask might seem a little strange, but we promise that you can find them all REALLY easily on Amazon or in your local health food store. This is also a pretty affordable project. We spent only $25 on the ingredients and have more than enough to be making our own face masks every weekend for months. Think of the relaxing!
OK, hopefully we’ve sold you on how awesome this project is. Now, on to making your own mask…
For your face mask you will need:
- 1 tsp activated charcoal
- 1 tsp Bentonite clay
- 1/2 tsp raw honey
- 2 tsp water
- Essential oil of your choosing (we went with Tea Tree Oil)
Step one: Oil
First, place two teaspoons of water into a bowl and add a drop of your favorite essential oil.
Step two: clay
Then, sprinkle one teaspoon of Bentonite clay over the water and let absorb for ten seconds.
Step three: charcoal
Now, add in one teaspoon of charcoal powder.
Step four: honey
Finally, drizzle in a half teaspoon of delicious raw honey and stir until incorporated.
Step five: Enjoy
Now all that’s left to do is spread this on your face….
… and wait for it to dry! We highly recommend putting your feet up and reading a good book or binge watching a favorite show. Then simply rinse off your mask with warm water and admire your radiant skin.
Enjoy! Have a great weekend. You deserve it.
