We love animals—if you’re anything like us, then you wish every day was Bring Your Pet to Work Day or Paint Your Pet Day.
But what do you do when you’re an animal lover and your apartment says “no way” to pets? What do you do when you don’t work at a hip, pets-allowed office? Well, you get creative.
What if we told you that you can create your own little zoo right in your apartment or office? Well, you can, and we’re going to teach you how! This DIY mini menagerie is super cute, easy to make, and won’t break any of your office or landlord’s rules.
You could also do your own thing and get fantastical by making unicorns and dragons. And you know how we feel about unicorns. They’re magical!
For this project, you’ll need:
- Mini frames
- Small plastic animals
- Gold spray paint
- Hot glue gun
- A sharp knife (be careful!)
- Cutting board
Step one: prep the animals
No animals were harmed in this step!
Take your plastic animals and bisect them using a knife or other cutting tool.
Once they’re cut in half, spray paint your animals gold. Or silver. Or hot pink. Whatever you think looks best.
Step two: glue
Now that your animals have been gilded, it’s time to glue them to your frame. Using a hot glue gun, arrange your animals however you’d like.
Step three: frame and enjoy!
Now, all that’s left to do is add the frame…
…and enjoy your own little zoo!
*hexagon popsicle stick frame project is coming up in two weeks’ time. And here’s how to make a sprinkle candle at home.
