What do you do when life gives you lavender and lemons? Well, there is only one thing to do… make lemonade! Okay, so maybe that is not quite how the old adage goes, but you get the idea.
With all of the lovely blooms popping up from the ground and markets all around, we wanted to celebrate another one of our favorites: lavender! Presenting, Lavender Coconut Lemonade: here to make all of your springtime dreams come true! Here’s how to make it:
To make this lovely lavender lemonade, you will need:
- 9 lemons
- 1/4 cup sugar
- Coconut water
- Dried lavender
- A pitcher
Step one: juice!
First, we will need to create the base for our lemonade. Half ~9 lemons and juice them. Make sure you strain the liquid after to remove all seeds and pulp.
Step two: sugar
Take a pitcher, fill it halfway with ice, and then place some lemon slices and your sugar inside.
Step three: lemon time
Now, add in the lemon juice that you freshly squeezed! We like to do this step after the sugar because it helps to sweeten the lemon juice and dissolve it.
Step four: lavender syrup
Take your dried lavender and place it in a pot with a tablespoon of sugar or honey, and 1 1/2 cups of water. Heat on medium until the sugar/honey dissolves and the water takes on a lavender hue. You can add a little coloring here if you want a more vibrant hue. Viola! Lavender syrup!
Put your syrup in the pitcher and then top the whole thing off with coconut water.
Step five: pour
Give your mixture a good stir, and then evenly distribute between your glasses.
Step six: garnish!
All that’s left to do is garnish with a slice of lemon and a fun straw!
