Soft pink blossoms over moving water — it sounds simple, but when it all comes together on canvas, there's a moment where the painting just clicks. I've been doing this since 2015 and that moment still gets me every time. We're painting a cherry blossom river bend: mountains in the background, petals catching the last of a sunset, reflections on the water below. It's the kind of painting that looks like you knew what you were doing, even if you walked in having never touched a brush. I'll meet you where you are, and we'll build it up layer by layer until you've got something you actually want to keep.

I'm a mainly self-taught artist, born and raised in Calgary. I've been hosting PaintNite events since 2015 and am always excited to paint. It never gets old; seeing you wonderful people take these very basic elements of colour and create a unique expression of art. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.

Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.

Your ticket to Cherry Blossom River Bend includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Mike. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Bored Brewing Taproom and Clubhouse — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Bored Brewing Taproom and Clubhouse's doors open at 6:00 PM, the event starts at 7:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Mike starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
