Serendipity. That’s how we describe how we came together to form a community brewery in Calgary over a decade ago. Seven founders with over 180 years of beer experience came together to make beer they’d want to drink and do some good in the community. The result? The ultimate community-focused craft brewery. And, umm, did we mention tasty beer?

I'm a mainly self-taught artist, born and raised in Calgary. I've been hosting PaintNite events since 2015 and am always excited to paint. It never gets old; seeing you wonderful people take these very basic elements of colour and create a unique expression of art. With my events being presented in a relaxing, yet mentally stimulating manner, and along with my dry sense of humor, you're sure to find something enjoyable about the experience of painting with MrPaintyPants
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Did Somebunny Say Christmas? is one of our more detailed paintings, which is exactly what makes it so satisfying to finish. Mike paces it carefully so nobody gets left behind — and Mike will help you turn any mistake into something intentional. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Mike is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Village Brewery, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Mike is a real local artist based in Calgary — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 10 out of 14 guests who've painted with Mike say the instruction was amazing. Allison W. said: 'Mike is an awesome teacher and explained each step throughly. It was a really fun event.'
Village Brewery is a local venue in Calgary — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 129 upcoming events in Calgary this month. You can view them here.
Did Somebunny Say Christmas? is a winter painting — cozy seasonal vibes for a great night out.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Calgary, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Did Somebunny Say Christmas? includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Mike. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Village Brewery — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Village Brewery's doors open at 11:30 AM, the event starts at 1:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 12:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Mike starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
