In just about two hours, while you’re sipping on a glass of wine, beer, or champagne cocktail*, our performing artist will guide you through a painting step-by-step. At the end of the night, take home your own unique masterpiece--you will be amazed with what you can do! *no food or drink is included with your ticket price, and must be purchased at the restaurant. Please note, this is NOT A BYOB event. Events are 18+. We use non-toxic washable acrylic paint in primary colors and provide 16”x20” canvases at all of our events. We provide everything you will need for use at the event: canvas, paints, brushes and even a smock. You just bring your fun-loving friends and have a few drinks to keep the spirits high and inhibitions to a minimum, and we'll make sure your inner Picasso is unleashed. Events last approximately two hours, at the end of which you get to take home your new masterpiece. Seating is first come, first served. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to secure seating with your friends and order your drink before the event begins. Help keep your artist from becoming a starving one--tips are appreciated!

Hi there! My name is Rebecca and I'm currently a student of Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba, I specialize in painting, sculpture and digital work. My favourite things are my cat Cid, experimenting with crazy hair colours and school! I'm so excited to get creating with you!
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. The Ocean is Crate is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Carolina breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Carolina is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Saffron's, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Carolina is a real local artist based in Winnipeg — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. In Winnipeg, 70 out of 76 Paint Nite guests rated their instructor as amazing.
Saffron's is a local venue in Winnipeg — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class. 70% of guests who've attended events at Saffron's rated the atmosphere highly.
Yes — we have 44 upcoming events in Winnipeg this month. You can view them here.
The Ocean is Crate is a summer painting — bright, warm tones that match the season perfectly.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Winnipeg, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to The Ocean is Crate includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Carolina. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Saffron's — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Saffron's's doors open at 12:00 PM, the event starts at 7:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Carolina starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
