Monday nights don't always feel like an occasion, but this one does. I'm Zen, and I'll be leading the room through a painting called Vibrant Palm Sky — palm tree silhouettes set against a sky full of colour, the kind of image that feels like it belongs somewhere celebratory. We're painting it during Pride Month, and that matters to me; there's something fitting about a night full of colour, good people, and a little creative freedom. Sou'Wester in the City is our home base in Bedford, and you don't need to have painted a single thing before — I'll build it up with you, step by step. Come as you are.

Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Vibrant Palm Sky is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Zen breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Zen is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Sou'Wester in the City, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Yes — Vibrant Palm Sky is a Paint Nite favourite for girls nights in Bedford. Everyone paints their own canvas, so there's always something to laugh about at the end. If you're planning a bachelorette party or a larger group, private events of 10+ get reserved seating and a custom experience.
Zen is a real local artist based in Bedford — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 23 out of 25 guests who've painted with Zen say the instruction was amazing. Donalda R. said: 'Our host Zen was the absolute best. 8 adults with varying disabilities celebrating a birthday. Zen encouraged everyone, made all off of them feel welcome and amazingly talented. Giggles and laughter...'
Sou'Wester in the City is a local venue in Bedford — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class. 75% of guests who've attended events at Sou'Wester in the City rated the atmosphere highly.
Yes — we have 30 upcoming events in Bedford this month. You can view them here.
Vibrant Palm Sky is a summer painting — bright, warm tones that match the season perfectly.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Bedford, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Vibrant Palm Sky includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Zen. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Sou'Wester in the City — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Sou'Wester in the City's event starts at 6:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 5:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Zen starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
