That sky is doing a lot — warm orange bleeding into pink, purple creeping in at the edges, and a treeline going dark against all of it. Sunset Silhouette III is the kind of painting that looks like it took real skill, and I promise you it didn't have to. I'll meet you where you are and we'll build it up together, layer by layer, until you've got a mountain landscape with real atmosphere on your canvas. KCR Bar & Grill is a great spot to spend a Thursday night, drink in hand, with a room full of people who showed up for the same reason you did. Janna has been doing this since 2018 and her love for it comes through — she's warm, funny, and genuinely just happy you're there. The silhouette details at the end are the moment the whole thing clicks.

Janna has been happily hosting Paint Nite since 2018. As a Master Artist, she has garnered a dedicated following with her passion, technique, and delightful sense of humour. She is constantly experimenting with new mediums and her clothes and hands always tell a colourful, messy story. When Janna puts down her paintbrush she can be found baking custom cakes and treats that further showcase her creative talent, and taste delicious too! Come have a drink with her and paint your own masterpiece!
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Sunset Silhouette III is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Janna breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Janna is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at KCR Bar & Grill, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Janna is a real local artist based in Pickering — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 10 out of 11 guests who've painted with Janna say the instruction was amazing. Nithya A. said: 'This is such a great social and artistic experience. Janna is amazing and I learned a lot while meeting some fun people.'
KCR Bar & Grill is a local venue in Pickering — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 23 upcoming events in Pickering this month. You can view them here.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Pickering, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Sunset Silhouette III includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Janna. Drinks and food are ordered separately from KCR Bar & Grill — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
KCR Bar & Grill's event starts at 7:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Janna starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
