Paint Nite: Vincent van Gogh - The Church at Auvers
This virtual painting class is for all levels. Learn to mix colours, make expressive brush marks, get creative and let Gogh!
If there is one thing to say about every single Van Gogh, is they are all full to the brim with emotion. This painting was infused with nostalgia, a scene that reminded him of the northern landscapes of his childhood and youth. A note about this painting -the foreground of the church is brightly lit by the sun, but the church itself sits in its own shadow, and as Van Gogh described, "neither reflects nor emanates any light of its own."
For this session Aisling will walk you through the painting step-by-step over zoom. Our virtual classes are hosted using a professional film set up for a high definition virtual class. The class takes place between 7:00pm-9:30pm ET (Toronto). The first 10 minutes of class are for questions about set up and some background on the artist and painting. It is advised to pour a small amount of each colour on your palette and have paint water ready before instruction begins at 7:10pm.
You will receive a zoom link. Make sure to have Zoom on your device. Feel free to shoot us an email with questions:
