You could say I was born with a paintbrush in hand, descending from a long line of artistic talent. From the days of spending hours chalking up the entire sidewalk which extended the entire length of my parents' home, to selling bookmarks I designed and sold for 10 cents in elementary school, it's been nothing but love. In 2008, I moved to Hawaii for two years, and there was inspired to share my artwork with the world! Who wouldn't be inspired--it's Hawaii after all! While there, I started painting custom wine glasses for friends' weddings, and after that dove into the world of upcyling. While I'm not painting, you can probably catch me hiking, at the beach, or on some other outdoor adventure with my husband, kids and 2 rescue dogs.

Yes. Design a Sign: Baby, It's Cold Outside is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Claire breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Design a Sign events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
Claire is a real local artist based in LaFayette — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. Paint Nite artists complete our certification program before their first event. Across all Paint Nite events, 93% of guests say their instructor was amazing.
Beak & Skiff Tavern is a local venue in LaFayette — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Design a Sign events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Your ticket to Design a Sign: Baby, It's Cold Outside includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Claire. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Beak & Skiff Tavern — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Beak & Skiff Tavern's event starts at 7:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Claire starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Design a Sign event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Design a Sign cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
