Join us for a virtual Paint Nite with a twist, where you get to choose your ticket price!
The event itself is free to attend, but we’re giving you the option afterwards to “Pay What You Can.” Whether you pay or not, our hope is that we can help provide a happy space for you to relax and rewind - because we understand that everyone needs a little more joy in their lives right now.
Expect all the usual Paint Nite fun, including the infamous Yaymaker pledge, music that makes you smile, lots of laughter, and a work of art when you’re done!
The host will demonstrate how to recreate the painting in real-time, from start to finish, so people of all artistic backgrounds can participate.
Please Note: due to event size this event will be streamed through YouTube. You will be able to ask questions during the event through YouTube Chat and get support from one of our trained hosts in real-time.
For this event, we recommend:
- Canvas (we’ll be using a 16x20, but use whatever works for you!)
- Acrylic paints: Blue, yellow, black, red, and white (feel free to use your own unique colors)
- Paintbrushes: Large, medium, small, and preferably a flat brush
- Paint palette (a paper plate, recycled cardboard, or plastic work)
- Cup of water in something you can wash/dispose of at the end
- Protective apron or old t-shirt to keep your favorite outfits fresh
You can find all these supplies and more at shop.yaymaker.com.
Hope to see you there!

BETH BATES is all about: •PAINTING! •PEOPLE! •PARTIES! The love and passion for art in my life goes back as far as I can remember. When I was 5, my mom framed and hung my first painting of a seahorse. I grew up in Sacramento. Art was my major at The University of the Pacific and The Pasadena Art Center, College of Design. My early careers include Art Directing in Los Angeles, commissioned original and limited editions for residential and commercial clients. I have had the great fortune to have taught art to elementary, high school and adult students My passion for liberation and inspiration through art and creativity for you to join me for some crazy fun and therapeutic creativity!
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Pay What You Can, Barn Door Blossoms is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Beth breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Beth is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Virtual Event, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Yes — Pay What You Can, Barn Door Blossoms is a Paint Nite favourite for girls nights in Somerville. Everyone paints their own canvas, so there's always something to laugh about at the end. If you're planning a bachelorette party or a larger group, private events of 10+ get reserved seating and a custom experience.
Beth is a real local artist based in Somerville — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 23 out of 24 guests who've painted with Beth say the instruction was amazing. Lisa V. said: 'First timer with paint and sip. Had such a great time. Beth made the experience so light and fun. Will surely booked another one in the future.'
Virtual Event is a local venue in Somerville — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Pay What You Can, Barn Door Blossoms is a spring painting — a fresh seasonal pick that captures the energy of the season.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Somerville, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Pay What You Can, Barn Door Blossoms includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Beth. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Virtual Event — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Virtual Event's event starts at 6:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 5:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Beth starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
This event has reached our minimum attendance threshold and is guaranteed to run. If we ever have to cancel a guaranteed event, every ticket holder receives a full automatic refund plus a free ticket to a future Paint Nite — no questions asked. The only exception is weather or force majeure, where full refunds are issued but free tickets are not.
