am a K-12 public school art teacher in the beautiful mountains of southern New Mexico. I graduated from college 33 years ago, receiving a BA in art, have been married to the same wonderful man for over 30 years and together we have raised three beautiful, talented children. Now that they are grown and have lives of their own I have started painting again.

Meet Deborah

My love for art started when I was just a child. I grew up in a small town in Texas, raised by wonderful school teacher parents. I was also blessed with a younger brother and we have always been best friends. They have always supported me in my ventures.

My father is a very talented artist and I remember as a child watching him create beautiful art. I gained a love and appreciatiation for the creative side of art by watching him make wonderful, realistic, landscape paintings. He also took me and my brother to many, many art galleries all over Texas, New Mexico and Colorado where I learned to appreciate the talents of other artists. Through his eyes I gained a huge desire to do this wonderful thing myself. I wanted to move to Santa Fe New Mexico, live on Canyon Road and be a hippie artist. I have not lived in Santa Fe but I have lived in Texas, Montana, California, Colorado and finally New Mexico. I have called New Mexico home for over 25 years, not Santa Fe but close. I am blessed to still visit that beautiful city often.
