Christmas Moonlight
Artwork byAshlee Merchant
Santa's sleigh pulled by four reindeer silhouetted in black against a large, luminous full moon dominates the composition, set against a deep cobalt and midnight blue night sky scattered with white star dots and a shooting star. A dark treeline of pine trees stretches across the lower third, reflected in a still body of water below. The palette is almost entirely deep blues and whites, with stark black silhouettes creating high contrast. The mood is magical and serene, evoking classic Christmas Eve wonder. The composition is simple and bold, making it highly accessible to beginner painters.
