"Day Of The Dead" Dog/Cat Partner Painting

Artwork byStephanie Chambers

Two side-by-side Día de los Muertos-style animal portraits: a seated cat on a teal/turquoise background (left) and a standing Chihuahua on a vivid pink/magenta background (right). Both animals are rendered as sugar skull calacas with decorative white skeleton markings, swirling floral ornaments, and bold jewel-toned accents in green, pink, yellow, and blue. The palette is vibrant and celebratory rather than dark, with loose acrylic brushwork and folk-art decorative elements like painted flowers and curling vines. The composition is bold and accessible, with flat graphic forms and high contrast.
