Pining for Winter

A snow-laden evergreen tree dominates the right side of the composition, its dark boughs heavily brushed with white and gray to suggest thick snow accumulation. A winding path of golden-amber light cuts through the middle ground, flanked by smaller snow-dusted conifers and a distant mountain ridge. The sky is a dramatic mix of lavender, cerulean blue, and billowing clouds edged in orange-red and yellow, suggesting a vivid winter sunset. The palette is unusually vibrant — purples, yellows, and fiery oranges contrast with cool blues and whites. Bold, expressive acrylic brushstrokes throughout give the piece an energetic, painterly complexity suited to intermediate painters.
