Wednesday evenings hit different when you've got a paint brush in one hand and something warm in the other — and South Restaurant + Coffeehouse is exactly the kind of place that makes you want to slow down. I'm Jessica, and I've been running these paint nights for a while now, so I know how to make the room feel easy from the start. I'll meet you where you are, no matter where that is. Beach Dreamer is what we're painting together: a sunset sky going full color — pinks, purples, oranges — over the ocean, with palm trees and stars coming in as the light fades. It's the kind of painting that looks ambitious but comes together in a way that genuinely surprises people. The coffeehouse has good food, good drinks, and a low-key energy that makes the whole night feel like exactly what a Wednesday should be.
The coffeehouse offers fresh baked treats, salads, paninis, smoothies, milk shakes and espresso. It’s the perfect place to hang out and study or catch up with friends. If you don’t have time to linger, choose from our conveniently packaged grab and go items.

Hi friends! I've been in love with art since childhood! Painting is my passion and profession. I teach elementary art during the day and look forward to my paint parties in the evening. As a mom of many I make sure our kid free time is full of fun and laughter!
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Beach Dreamer is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Jessica breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Jessica is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at South Restaurant + Coffeehouse, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Jessica is a real local artist based in Anchorage — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 7 out of 9 guests who've painted with Jessica say the instruction was amazing. Misty N. said: 'Had a blast! Easy to follow instructions, chill/welcoming environment, amazing instructor!'
South Restaurant + Coffeehouse is a local venue in Anchorage — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 113 upcoming events in Anchorage this month. You can view them here.
Beach Dreamer is a summer painting — bright, warm tones that match the season perfectly.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Anchorage, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Beach Dreamer includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Jessica. Drinks and food are ordered separately from South Restaurant + Coffeehouse — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
South Restaurant + Coffeehouse's doors open at 8:00 AM, the event starts at 6:30 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:00 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Jessica starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
