Wednesday night at The Carousel Lounge already sounds like a good time — pool tables, karaoke, live music, and a bar that knows how to have fun. Add Cinco de Mayo and a painting that stops you in your tracks, and we're really cooking. The Sugar Skull we're painting together is bold and beautiful: rich reds and purples, flowers, patterns, a face that's playful and a little mystical all at once. It's the kind of piece that looks like it took serious skill, and I promise you don't need any coming in — I'll meet you where you are and we'll build it up together. It's going to be a full, lively room, and that canvas is going to earn a spot on your wall.

Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Sultry Calavera "Sugar Skull" is one of our more detailed paintings, which is exactly what makes it so satisfying to finish. Kara paces it carefully so nobody gets left behind — and Kara will help you turn any mistake into something intentional. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Kara is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at The Carousel Lounge, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Yes — Sultry Calavera "Sugar Skull" is a Paint Nite favourite for girls nights in Anchorage. Everyone paints their own canvas, so there's always something to laugh about at the end. If you're planning a bachelorette party or a larger group, private events of 10+ get reserved seating and a custom experience.
Kara is a real local artist based in Anchorage — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. In Anchorage, 11 out of 15 Paint Nite guests rated their instructor as amazing. Craig B. said: 'The instructor, Jessica, is very good and an accomplished artist.'
The Carousel Lounge is a local venue in Anchorage — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 93 upcoming events in Anchorage this month. You can view them here.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Anchorage, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Sultry Calavera "Sugar Skull" includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Kara. Drinks and food are ordered separately from The Carousel Lounge — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
The Carousel Lounge's event starts at 6:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 5:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Kara starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
