A Wednesday night out in Anchorage with good coffee, baked things, and a painting that actually earns its wall space — that's the plan. I'm Jessica, and I've been running these events for years because watching someone surprise themselves with what they can do never gets old. The painting we're working on is called Tranquil Purple Pond — soft water, a little bridge, branches catching the light, the whole thing rendered in blues and purples that feel genuinely calm to look at. If you've never picked up a brush before, I'll meet you where you are and we'll build it up together. South Restaurant + Coffeehouse is a great room for this — the kind of place where the evening slows down in the best way.
The coffeehouse offers fresh baked treats, salads, paninis, smoothies, milk shakes and espresso. It’s the perfect place to hang out and study or catch up with friends. If you don’t have time to linger, choose from our conveniently packaged grab and go items.

Hi friends! I've been in love with art since childhood! Painting is my passion and profession. I teach elementary art during the day and look forward to my paint parties in the evening. As a mom of many I make sure our kid free time is full of fun and laughter!
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Tranquil Purple Pond is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Jessica breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Jessica is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at South Restaurant + Coffeehouse, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Tranquil Purple Pond is one of our most popular date night paintings in Anchorage. You each paint your own canvas — same painting, different results — which always makes for a fun comparison at the end of the night. The mood of the painting is romantic — expect something beautiful to bring home.
Jessica is a real local artist based in Anchorage — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 7 out of 9 guests who've painted with Jessica say the instruction was amazing. Misty N. said: 'Had a blast! Easy to follow instructions, chill/welcoming environment, amazing instructor!'
South Restaurant + Coffeehouse is a local venue in Anchorage — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.

Tranquil Purple Pond is a spring painting — a fresh seasonal pick that captures the energy of the season.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Anchorage, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Tranquil Purple Pond includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Jessica. Drinks and food are ordered separately from South Restaurant + Coffeehouse — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
South Restaurant + Coffeehouse's doors open at 8:00 AM, the event starts at 6:30 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:00 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Jessica starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
