Hi! Im Kayla, or Kay! I'm a tattoo artist by day, who recently moved to BC from Alberta in pursuit of the creative culture, and boy have I found it! I studied at University of Alberta for my Bachelor of Fine Arts, and I knew there was more out there then what Edmonton had to offer. Im excited to share my passion for art with all of you here now, and have a laugh while we do it! Looking forward to seeing everyone unlock their inner Bob Ross with me.
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Colorful Calavera Sugar Skull Babe is one of our more detailed paintings, which is exactly what makes it so satisfying to finish. Kayla paces it carefully so nobody gets left behind — and Kayla will help you turn any mistake into something intentional. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Kayla is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at LuLu Island Winery, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Yes — Colorful Calavera Sugar Skull Babe is a Paint Nite favourite for girls nights in Richmond. Everyone paints their own canvas, so there's always something to laugh about at the end. If you're planning a bachelorette party or a larger group, private events of 10+ get reserved seating and a custom experience.
Kayla is a real local artist based in Richmond — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 14 out of 18 guests who've painted with Kayla say the instruction was amazing. . said: 'the bigger the group the more fun'
LuLu Island Winery is a local venue in Richmond — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class. 82% of guests who've attended events at LuLu Island Winery rated the atmosphere highly.
Yes — we have 36 upcoming events in Richmond this month. You can view them here.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Richmond, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Colorful Calavera Sugar Skull Babe includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Kayla. Drinks and food are ordered separately from LuLu Island Winery — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
LuLu Island Winery's doors open at 10:00 AM, the event starts at 6:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 5:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Kayla starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
