Friday night at Dave & Buster's already has a certain energy to it, and we're adding painting to the mix. I'm Arlene, and I've run over 360 of these nights — I know how to make a room full of people who've never held a brush feel completely at ease. You don't need any experience coming in; I'll meet you where you are and we'll build the painting up together from there. The painting we're doing is Mermaid Magic III — cool blacks, deep greens, and whites that pull together into something that actually looks stunning when it's done. It's the kind of piece where you surprise yourself.

Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes — Mermaid Magic III is one of our most approachable paintings. Absolute first-timers finish this one looking great. Arlene walks you through every step, and the whole group moves together so nobody falls behind. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Arlene is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Dave & Buster's Los Angeles - Westchester, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Yes — Mermaid Magic III is a Paint Nite favourite for girls nights in Los Angeles. Everyone paints their own canvas, so there's always something to laugh about at the end. If you're planning a bachelorette party or a larger group, private events of 10+ get reserved seating and a custom experience.
Arlene is a real local artist based in Los Angeles — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 13 out of 28 guests who've painted with Arlene say the instruction was amazing. Julianna B. said: 'Awesome event! The teacher is so incredible and the event was fun, educational, entertaining and inspiring!! Highly recommended!!!'
Dave & Buster's Los Angeles - Westchester is a local venue in Los Angeles — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 10 upcoming events in Los Angeles this month. You can view them here.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Los Angeles, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Mermaid Magic III includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Arlene. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Dave & Buster's Los Angeles - Westchester — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Dave & Buster's Los Angeles - Westchester's event starts at 8:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 7:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Arlene starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
