I grew up in Sacramento, with a super creative mom who embodied freedom and joy while creating. She always wanted to "paint like Bob Ross", and made her dream come true in the year before she passed away. Inspired by her spirit, I began painting over 15 years ago. I LOVE hosting paint events that spread that same feeling of freedom and joy through creativity. Painting is an amazing way to express yourself! Everyone is welcome - let's create something beautiful!
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Love Mittens is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Darcy breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Darcy is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Sutter Buttes Brewing, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Love Mittens is one of our most popular date night paintings in Yuba City. You each paint your own canvas — same painting, different results — which always makes for a fun comparison at the end of the night.
Darcy is a real local artist based in Yuba City — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 12 out of 12 guests who've painted with Darcy say the instruction was amazing. . said: 'It was a fantastic evening with a great art instructor!'
Sutter Buttes Brewing is a local venue in Yuba City — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 14 upcoming events in Yuba City this month. You can view them here.
Love Mittens is a winter painting — cozy seasonal vibes for a great night out.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Yuba City, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Love Mittens includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Darcy. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Sutter Buttes Brewing — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Sutter Buttes Brewing's doors open at 11:00 AM, the event starts at 6:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 5:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Darcy starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 8 hours before this one starts. Rescheduling more than 48 hours in advance is free; within 48 hours of the start time there's a $20 fee per ticket. You can't reschedule within 8 hours of the start time, but if an emergency comes up, reach out to our customer service team and we'll do our best to help. Event tickets are not refundable, but your reschedule codes never expire, so you can redeem them whenever it suits you. If Paint Nite cancels this event, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
