Improper City in Denver's River North (RiNo) District is a family friendly collective space where you'll find a rotating cast of 36 craft beers, 4 affordably priced wines, and 8 draft cocktails, in addition to a full service coffee and espresso bar! The space at Improper City is the perfect slice of Denver. Between the 75-foot-long bar top and array of tables, there’s plenty of space to get creative with Plant Nite at Improper City. Four to 6 of Denver’s finest food trucks cycle through every day, offering everything from small bites to full-on meals. At our Improper City events, Plant Nite is hosted inside where guests can admire the building's original architecture with exposed trusses and beams alongside new touches, like local murals and handcrafted tables. We love the huge space and natural light in this awesome space! Improper City is a venue great for all ages, and we welcome guests aged 13 and older to all of our Plant Nite events here, and of course 21+ to enjoy alchoholic beverages. One of Colorado's most infamous artists & performers, and Yaymaker's funniest and most exceptional entertainers, Nate Folsom was born and raised in Boulder! With a dedicated following, Nate's music is sought after as much as his local performances. We are thrilled to have Nate breath life into Yaymaker here in Colorado, and lend his creative spirit to our events. Described by friends as hilarious & creative, Nate comes to us with a performance background and always finds the fun in everything he does. Some groups get a little wild, and others like the zen of crafting but Nate takes pride in his ability to coach you through your project, making sure you leave with a masterpiece. Nate wants guests to have fun, let loose, and create something magical!

Yes. Rose Quartz Succulent Garden in Black Tray is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Maggie breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Plant Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
Maggie is a real local artist based in Denver — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. Paint Nite artists complete our certification program before their first event. Across all Paint Nite events, 93% of guests say their instructor was amazing.
Improper City (RiNo) is a local venue in Denver — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Plant Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Your ticket to Rose Quartz Succulent Garden in Black Tray includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Maggie. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Improper City (RiNo) — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Improper City (RiNo)'s event starts at 7:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Maggie starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Plant Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Plant Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
