Boston CandleLux is Marching Into Spring at Dorchester Brewing Co. for some great craft beers and delicious barbeque!
Make your own custom-scented candle while enjoying craft beers. Play games, receive giveaways and enter for the chance to be the winner of a CandleLux Spring gift basket full of everything you need to start your spring garden. Then, head on over to the M&M BBQ counter and get some of the best barbeque in town.
How it works:
1) Participants choose their vessel from our selection of vessels that we offer.
2) Participants then choose their scent of combination of scents from our assortment of essential oils and/or fragrance oils that we have.
3) The soy wax CNDL BAR "bartender" distributes the proper amount of liquid wax to each participant in order for them to pour their wax into their chosen vessel. Then, they will be instructed on combining and stirring their liquid wax with their chosen fragrances (this stirring process takes a full two minutes so get to working out on those arms! - lol)
4) Then, each candle takes about 45 minutes to an hour to cure. During that time, enjoy a variety of craft beer and excellent food from Dorchester's own, M&M BBQ.
5) Once the candles have properly cured, we will provide and instruct participants on how to embellish their candles with our selection of crystals, botanicals, herbs and gemstones, if you choose to do so.
Then, the "candle bartender" will give candle care tips and instructions and participants will be able to have had the experience of having made their very own custom-scented and self-embellished candle to take away with them.

Lance is an artist in all that he does, living and breathing creativity through fashion, art, and design. Alongside his wife, Tammi, he has spent nearly 30 years as a hairstylist and salon owner, helping people look and feel their best. A serial entrepreneur, Lance turned his focus to wellness during the COVID-19 lockdown, creating soy wax candles scented with 100% essential oils in his own kitchen. This passion led to the founding of CandleLux, a brand dedicated to self-care nd mindful living.

Yes. Craft Beer & Candle Making is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Lance breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Candle Maker events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.

Your ticket to Craft Beer & Candle Making includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Lance. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Dorchester Brewing Company — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Dorchester Brewing Company's event starts at 2:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 1:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Lance starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Candle Maker event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Candle Maker cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
This event has reached our minimum attendance threshold and is guaranteed to run. If we ever have to cancel a guaranteed event, every ticket holder receives a full automatic refund plus a free ticket to a future Candle Maker — no questions asked. The only exception is weather or force majeure, where full refunds are issued but free tickets are not.
