Friday afternoon plans don't always pan out, but this one is worth clearing your schedule for. I'll be at O'Dear Bar & Grill in Portland's Parkrose neighborhood, and the painting we're making together is one I've been really excited to bring to a class — soft pinks and purples layered into something that feels like light on water, stars reflected across a quiet surface, the kind of image that sounds complicated until you're actually in it and realize it's just building one beautiful thing at a time. I'll meet you where you are, no matter what. The bar has great cocktails and food, the room fills up with good energy fast, and by the end of the night you'll have something on canvas that actually looks stunning.
Fantastic food and atmosphere in the Parkrose neighborhood! Enjoy house cocktails and delicious original dishes!

Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. Starry Light is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Morgan breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Morgan is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at O'Dear Bar & Grill, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Yes — Starry Light is a Paint Nite favourite for girls nights in Portland. Everyone paints their own canvas, so there's always something to laugh about at the end. If you're planning a bachelorette party or a larger group, private events of 10+ get reserved seating and a custom experience.
Morgan is a real local artist based in Portland — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. Paint Nite artists complete our certification program before their first event. Across all Paint Nite events, 93% of guests say their instructor was amazing.
O'Dear Bar & Grill is a local venue in Portland — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 24 upcoming events in Portland this month. You can view them here.
Starry Light is a winter painting — cozy seasonal vibes for a great night out.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Portland, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Starry Light includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Morgan. Drinks and food are ordered separately from O'Dear Bar & Grill — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
O'Dear Bar & Grill's event starts at 4:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 3:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Morgan starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
