No experience required! This painting is: EASY to MODERATE (beginner-friendly, with ALL of the details broken down into easy steps). We will be painting on a 14x14 square canvas!
Just follow along while I guide you, step-by-step, through the painting, in about 2 hours. If you’re feeling super creative, change the colors -or go completely rogue... there are no rules! There will be lots of time for socializing between steps. We provide all of the painting supplies!!
Come out early to enjoy drinks or a full meal before we get started; Three10 has a fantastic menu! If you're part of a large group, come and reserve those seats at least 30 mins ahead of the start time.
Recommended for ages 12 and up. Minors must be accompanied by a participating adult. All attendees require a ticket; no "spectators" will be seated in the event area. Drinks and food are available for purchase from the venue and not included in the ticket price.

I'm thrilled to be hosting/instructing an experience that can be so empowering, transformative, and therapeutic (at the very least, huge fun!)... It's beautiful to watch people amaze themselves; doing something adventurous and overcoming doubts. I hope to provide you with a supportive, encouraging environment, where you can just relax, create, and laugh along with me (I goof around a lot)! My artistic background is wildly varied (pencil portraits, professional face painting, crafts/card making, carving, sculpting, design/decorating projects) - I love any chance to be creative! I can't wait to have you out to explore and unleash your own glorious artistry! Whether you're with your friends or flying solo, it's SO much fun! See you soon! :)
Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Arctic Fox Under Aurora Borealis is one of our more detailed paintings, which is exactly what makes it so satisfying to finish. Monique paces it carefully so nobody gets left behind — and Monique will help you turn any mistake into something intentional. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Monique is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at The Rec Room, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Monique is a real local artist based in Winnipeg — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. 69 out of 73 guests who've painted with Monique say the instruction was amazing. Kate B. said: 'Fun way to spend time with friends. Monique is an amazing teacher walks you through the painting step by step. Anyone can do this! Get ready to bring your inner artist and have some laughs!'
The Rec Room is a local venue in Winnipeg — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 40 upcoming events in Winnipeg this month. You can view them here.
Arctic Fox Under Aurora Borealis is a winter painting — cozy seasonal vibes for a great night out.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Winnipeg, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Arctic Fox Under Aurora Borealis includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Monique . Drinks and food are ordered separately from The Rec Room — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
The Rec Room's doors open at 3:00 PM, the event starts at 5:30 PM. We suggest showing up by 5:00 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Monique starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
