That quiet feeling you get looking at water before anyone else is awake — still, a little moody, kind of beautiful — that's the energy we're painting Friday night. Misty Mountain Lake is all cool blues and purples, soft mist rolling over the water, mountains sitting heavy in the background, a little yellow and green sneaking in at the edges. It's the kind of painting that looks like it took skill, but I'll meet you where you are and we'll build it up together, so don't let that worry you. Freeman's Little New York in Fairview is the spot, drinks are part of the deal, and the room always ends up looser and louder than people expect when they first walk in. Forty-six events in, I still love watching someone surprise themselves with what they make.

Misty Mountain Lake is one of our more detailed paintings, which is exactly what makes it so satisfying to finish. Iyana paces it carefully so nobody gets left behind — and Iyana will help you turn any mistake into something intentional. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Iyana is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Freeman's Little New York - Fairview, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
Iyana is a real local artist based in Halifax — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. In Halifax , 13 out of 15 Paint Nite guests rated their instructor as amazing. Jessica M. said: 'Iyana is a great teacher. She gave clear instructions and was kind and relaxed. It was a fun evening.'
Freeman's Little New York - Fairview is a local venue in Halifax — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.

Misty Mountain Lake is a spring painting — a fresh seasonal pick that captures the energy of the season.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Halifax , you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to Misty Mountain Lake includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Iyana. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Freeman's Little New York - Fairview — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Freeman's Little New York - Fairview's doors open at 11:00 AM, the event starts at 7:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 6:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Iyana starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
