Picture a city skyline glowing against a deep black sky — that's where we're headed tonight. I'm Rachelle, and we're painting "A New Year in the City" together at Crab Corner, and this one is all color: stars scattered above rooftops, the whole canvas lit up in pink, purple, blue, and gold. It's a painting that feels like possibility, and I can't wait to bring a room full of people through it. You don't need a single art class behind you — I'll meet you where you are and we'll build it up together. Great seafood, great company, great night.
Crab Corner Maryland Seafood House is considered one of the best seafood restaurants in Las Vegas. It's owned and operated by the Smolen brothers, who are originally from the great state of Maryland. Upon coming to Las Vegas in 2006, they immediately noticed the lack of East Coast flavor for all of the transplanted residents. In 2010, the original Crab Corner restaurant on Eastern Avenue opened it's doors the public and was an instant hit. Our extensive menu offers such items as live lobster, soft-shell crabs, steamed mussels and clams, peel 'n eat shrimp and much more. Come try it & be transported to the Chesapeake Bay! We'll spread the paper on the table and hand you the crab mallet & knife while you dine in true Maryland crab feast style.

Questions about what to expect, what’s included, and how it all works.
Yes. A New Year in the City is designed to be achievable at any experience level. More satisfying than it looks difficult — Rachelle breaks every step down clearly. Most of our guests have never picked up a brush before, and they leave with something they're genuinely proud of. Worth knowing: Paint Nite events happen at real bars and restaurants, not studios — it's a night out that happens to involve painting.
A painting class teaches you technique. Paint Nite gives you a finished painting and a good night. Rachelle is a real local artist — not a teacher running a curriculum — and this event happens at Crab Corner, a real local spot, not a studio. Paint Nite invented this format in 2012 and has sold more than 10 million tickets. The trade-off is honest: lighting varies, it can get loud, and the person at the next easel is a stranger. That's the point. It's more of a night out than a class.
A New Year in the City is one of our most popular date night paintings in Las Vegas. You each paint your own canvas — same painting, different results — which always makes for a fun comparison at the end of the night.
Rachelle is a real local artist based in Las Vegas — not a franchise employee or a corporate hire. Paint Nite artists complete our certification program before their first event. Across all Paint Nite events, 93% of guests say their instructor was amazing.
Crab Corner is a local venue in Las Vegas — a real local spot, not a dedicated painting studio. Paint Nite events happen at places like this by design — venues with character, regulars, and a bar. It can get lively. That's what makes it a night out rather than a class.
Yes — we have 14 upcoming events in Las Vegas this month. You can view them here.
A New Year in the City is a winter painting — cozy seasonal vibes for a great night out.
Yaymaker is Paint Nite. We brought both brands together under the Paint Nite name — same artists, same events, same format we invented in 2012. More than 10 million tickets have been sold across both brands combined. If you used to attend Yaymaker events in Las Vegas, you're in the right place. Welcome back.
Your ticket to A New Year in the City includes the canvas, all the paint you'll need, the use of brushes and an apron during the event, and step-by-step instruction from Rachelle. Drinks and food are ordered separately from Crab Corner — you pay the venue directly for anything you eat or drink.
Crab Corner's doors open at 11:00 AM, the event starts at 6:00 PM. We suggest showing up by 5:30 PM to give yourself time to pick your seats, get a drink and maybe a bite before Rachelle starts the painting.
You can reschedule your ticket to any other Paint Nite event up to 24 hours before this one starts. After that, tickets are locked — no refunds or changes. If Paint Nite cancels this event for any reason, you'll receive a full automatic refund.
