I was going to the tap for an event this weekend and had to get some food before hand. I’m not going to rate service because it was VERY busy understandably and the staff were obviously overwhelmed.
I got the Chicken Tenders ($18.5) with fries ($4.5). I really enjoyed seeing how many house made items were on the menu and this was one of them. I could taste it in the tenders, they were good! Fries were decent too. However I’m not sure I would recommend this dish simply because of the price. 4 rather small pieces for $18.5 is diabolical… then you have to pay another $4.5 for fries.
I REALLY appreciate the effort they are making with the new menu, but I can’t justify that price for chicken tenders and fries.
I will be returning on hopefully a slower night when there isn’t double events and I’ll be ordering something else. The chef has commented on another post on another platform and will be ensuring better quality control for the size of the strips going forwards!

Service could use some improvement. We arrived at 6pm and left just after 8pm. To be fair we were a large group and had been sat in the back room. It took quite a bit of time to get our drink order taken then our food order. Often we got up and came to the main area for refills and to ask for service. Our waitress was lovely but seemed to be extremely overwhelmed. At one point someone in our party became quite critical and her response was very combative. Our food came out at around 7:30, very staggered, no cutlery, forgotten salads, and no condiments like Parmesan cheese for the pizza. I had the pizza and it was actually really quite good and I would 100% have it again! Paying also took a long time with her constantly leaving and could be seen tending to other tables in the main area. To be clear the price you’re paying at the TAP is quite premium. However I don’t feel like they are setting their servers up for success by spreading them thin and putting tables in a back room. Under different circumstances I think it would have been different but I don’t think I’ll be back to find out.

Ended up at The Tap with a big group of coworkers after the Boston Pizza next door took our reservation weeks in advance but didn't actually reserve any tables. So glad we ended up coming here instead. The service was good and the food was too notch. Boneless dry ribs with a Chili Maple sauce and the Hot Mexican Street Corn Style dip and their house made tortilla chips were absolutely fantastic. Definitely hit the spot. Also shout to The Tap and nearly every other bar in the city for having local beers on tap! You can't NOT get the Pile O' Bones White IPA in this city.
